Convoy Skateboards is sponsoring the Mid Atlantic Skateboard Series contest event which benefits the Grind for Life organization. Grind for life helps people living with cancer by providing financial assistance to cancer patients and their families when traveling long distances to doctors and hospitals. In addition, they educate and inspire these patients and families concerning cancer survival and recovery.
All proceeds from the entry fees paid for the contest will benefit the Grind for Life organization. Convoy Skateboards will also donate a portion of their sales that day to Grind for Life. It's all about the love!
Convoy Skateboards featured a timeline of its skateboard artwork as part of the SCION Inspire Location house in Baltimore, MD. Other area artists displayed their work in support of a good cause.
A shoe drive was held at the event in support of the Carmelo Anthony Youth Development Center. All product and proceeds went towards benefiting this organization and its projects.
Convoy Skateboards supports the Washington, DC "Bridgespot" DIY skate park. We have sponsored every fundraising event to date to try and raise money to benefit the project. The ultimate goal of the project is to create sustainable, low maintenance skate ramps & obstacles in a grass roots fashion, to make kids happy and have a place to skate that stays dry year round.
All proceeds and money raised goes directly back into the park project for materials, maintenance and other fundraiser events.
Convoy Skateboards put on a Demo at the Clarendon Day Community event in Arlington, VA. The main goal of the demo was to help educate the public about skateboarding in our area, Convoy and the Arlington Powhatan Springs Skatepark which is located near the site of the demo.
Convoy Skateboards hosted it's first Go Skateboarding Day event on June 21, 2007, the official international day of skateboarding. The event was hosted at the Arlington County Powhatan Springs Skatepark in Arlington, VA. The events goal was to create a sense of community within the Washington, DC area amongst skateboarders and area citizens. Live music, local artists & companies came out to support the event. Arlington County was also a major sponsor in the entire process, supporting Convoy's mission of community & a designated place for Go Skateboarding day to be for years to come.
Convoy Skateboards donated product & a monetary donation to the 2007 Rock & Roll Marathon silent auction to raise money for the Leukemia Lymphoma Society's Team in Training. They trained for different endurance events (marathons, triathalons, and century bicycle races) around the country and raised money for those living with blood cancers. The money we helped raise improved the quality of life for those living with blood cancer as well as their families. It also helps fund crucial research that will help people with all forms of cancer, beat their illness.
Convoy Skateboards hosted a fundraiser event at Dr. Dremo's Taphouse in Arlington, VA to raise money to rebuild the community mini ramp known as "The Doghouse." Over $1,000 was raised in one night with crowds drawn in by bands such as First Rays, Faux Hawk, Math Panda & more. Live music and good times were had throughout the night all in effort to create a safer & nicer place for kids to skate.
